Notice

The Youth Ministry at the Edmund Rice International Heritage Centre (ERIHC Ltd) was established in 2005 with a mission to foster a safe, caring, welcoming and sacred environment for young people to explore, experience and celebrate God’s presence in their lives. Part of this outreach was the provision of day retreats/reflection days for students from 6th Class in Primary School to Leaving Certificates and a 2.5 days residential programme for senior students called Encounter.

Br. Sean Whitty cfc (the initial director of Youth Ministry), Br. Ian Robertson cfc and Siobhán Ní Riain formed the team. Last summer, Br. Sean returned to North America. Br. Ian and Siobhán continued to provide the reflection day programme throughout the 2009-2010 Academic Year. Br. Ian returned to Australia in May 2010 and due to lack of funding for Siobhán’s role, she will be finishing her time at ERIHC in June 2010.

Following from this, the Board of Management of ERIHC Ltd, wishes to advise that the Youth Ministry activities including Day Retreats to schools, will not be available for the 2010-2011 School Year. The Board wishes the Youth Ministries to continue in an evolving way as they emerge from the Brothers’ community but what form this will take in the future is not clear at this stage.

Br. Sean, Br. Ian and Siobhán have been privileged during this time to work with many wonderful schools, staffs and students. We would like to extend a sincere thank you for all your support, encouragement and commitment to our Youth Ministry work here in Mount Sion over the past five years. May God continue to guide you and your ministries in your work of Catholic Education.
