New CEO at ERIHC Mount Sion, Br. Pat Madigan, cfc

Br. Pat Madigan was born in Co. Clare, Ireland in 1944.  On 18th August 2009 he was appointed Chief Executive Office of Edmund Rice International Heritage Centre, Mount Sion, Waterford for a three year period.  He brings wide experience, both in education and formation, to the role, as well as personal and professional skills that are suited to the position.  He is approaching the post with plenty of enthusiasm, determined that Mount Sion will continue to develop as a prime place of inspiration for all within the Edmund Rice network, under his stewardship.  Blessed Edmund Rice’s remains are in the chapel at Mount Sion.  It also has a very modern museum and Br. Pat hopes that Mount Sion will continue to be a place of pilgrimage, prayer and hospitality.

August 2009 has been an auspicious month for Br. Pat.  On Saturday 29th August he celebrated the Golden Jubilee of his entry into the Christian Brother Congregation.  The greater part of his life has been spent in teaching and administration of schools in Ireland.   During the period of 1994-2003 he was on the Congregation Renewal Team and was Co-Director of the International Formation Programme, Trasna.   From 2003-2007 he was Director of Novices at The International Spirituality Centre, Lusaka, Zambia.

Br. Pat lives in Community in Mount Sion, with Peader, Ian, Phil, three Christian Brothers, and with Kevin, a Presentation Brother.  Mount Sion has a very dedicated and welcoming staff.

Br. Pat wishes you to know that you are most welcome to visit and stay at Mount Sion.   It is a quiet place, a place of pilgrimage, prayer and hospitality.  Perhaps we all have a deep need to return, from time to time, to our roots, not so much for answers but for energy.  Come to Mount Sion.  Savour the joy of its peace, the possibilities of its sacredness.  You will leave energised!
