Living the Vision, Mount Sion 2009
“Imagine your future with us rather than without us”

Objective B: Set up a sharing of both personal and Province ERN experience so as to be able to draw out the wisdom and learnings

This was the challenge given to the Christian Brothers at their Congregation Chapter by an Edmund Rice Network invitee. It seems to catch very well the aim of the “Living the Vision” event: to imagine together the future of the ERN.

The 2008 Congregation Chapter challenged Christian Brother Leadership to examine ways of co-ordinating the Edmund Rice Network (ERN) at the international level. “Living the Vision” brings ERN participants from every continent to Mt Sion, Waterford from June 24th to 30th to explore the future of the Network across the globe.

The following people, from each of the Provinces and regions, have accepted the invitation to be part of this gathering:Andy Kuppe, Anne Barry-Murphy, Bob Koppes cfc, Brian Bond cfc, Dan Casey cfc, Danny Moore, Donal Kirk cfc, Evona Rebelo, Francis Hall cfc, Gaston Richelet, Hanora Fleming, Ian Robertson cfc, Jean Marsh, Johnfisher Ondigo, Kevin Barry, Kevin Mascarenhas fpm, Martin Binyenya cfc, Martin O’Flaherty cfc, Neville MacNamara, Noel deSa cfc, Paul Keohane cfc, Paul Robertson cfc, Peadar Gleeson cfc, Peter Dowling cfc, Sean Whitty cfc, Senan D'Souza cfc, Siobhan Ni Riain and Steve McLaughlin cfc.

Some of the key issues:

1. How is the Spirit of God calling our Network to open up the spirit of Edmund Rice for our world?
2. How might we best organise ourselves internationally to allow this to happen?
3. How can we commit ourselves to living this vision?

Certainly we will start by drawing on the wisdom present within the Network. The Network exists to serve God’s purposes in our world and cosmos. Its life force is the communication between people – the act of ‘networking’.
